Sunday Worship

What to Expect

Trinity Reformed Church follows a pattern of Lord’s Day worship commonly called covenant renewal worship. This is a liturgical form modeled after the structure of biblical covenants and sacrifices. The 5 C’s below provide a basic outline of our Sunday liturgy.

Call to Worship

The service begins with a formal call to the congregation to gather and focus their hearts and minds on worshiping God. The Lord does the calling, and He does so through His ministers who have been set apart.

Confession of Sin

The congregation engages in a time of corporate confession, seeking forgiveness and cleansing through Christ. We kneel as an act of submission and prostration before a Holy God. We acknowledge our need for forgiveness and cleansing through our sacrificial lamb.

Consecration

This portion of the service may include prayers, hymns, or other elements that serve to consecrate or dedicate the worship service to God's glory. This is where we hear the Word read and preached by God’s ministers.

Communion

The Lord's Supper is observed every Lord's Day at Trinity Reformed Church. We warmly invite to the Lord's table all those who are baptized disciples of Jesus Christ, under the authority of Christ and His body, the Church.

Commission

As the Lord’s Day service draws to a close, the congregation is commissioned with a charge and a benediction and blessing to go and live faithful and obedient lives through faith in Christ Jesus, our Lord.

Our Music

At Trinity Reformed Church, we use the Cantus Christi 2020 from Canon Press as our hymnal. We aim to sing robustly, in such a way that the men of our church can lead boldly. This playlist contains music from our Lord’s Day liturgy, so you can prepare for Sunday in family worship.
